In January 2023, Fresno State's inaugural University Diversity Officer (UDO), Dr.
Rashanda Booker, joined the university as a cabinet member and expert in the field.
Shortly after, Fresno State officially launched the Division of Equity and Engagement
(DEE) under her visionary leadership.

On January 3, 2023, I began my tenure as the inaugural University Diversity Officer
(UDO). It is a privilege and honor to serve this prestigious university as we move
towards creating a more inclusive and equitable environment while continuing to acknowledge

For 10 consecutive years Fresno State has been awarded INSIGHT into Diversity Higher
Education in Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award. This award is recognition for demonstrating
an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion across campus.

and staff to share their experiences with equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging
in an effort to spark critical conversations that ignite a collective commitment toward
full inclusivity and belongingness.
